A Redditch based manufacturer helping us promote cleaner, greener local spaces and supporting the practical work behind the campaign.
We are delighted that Thorlux Lighting has come on board to help promote the Keep Redditch Tidy message.
Thorlux is a major lighting manufacturer based in Redditch, with a long standing connection to the wider Midlands and a strong focus on responsible manufacturing.
Their support helps us continue encouraging residents, businesses and organisations to take pride in the places we all share.
Supported by Thorlux Lighting
Thorlux has supported Keep Redditch Tidy by helping with PPE, clothing and equipment, while also backing the campaign’s wider message.
2026 marks 90 years since Thorlux products were first made by founder Frederick William Thorpe.
The company began in a small factory in Small Heath, Birmingham, where Frederick and his son Ernest initially designed and manufactured vitreous enamelled steel reflectors for gas-filled and discharge lamps.
Since then, Thorlux has grown into a globally recognised manufacturer of luminaires and lighting control systems. After expanding through several factories, the company now operates from a large, high-tech facility in Redditch, Worcestershire, just a few miles from where its story began.
The anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on how far Thorlux has come. Much has changed over the decades, but the Thorpe family remains actively involved in the organisation, and the company continues to uphold its core values of family, engineering excellence and innovation.
Thorlux Lighting is committed to minimising the environmental impact of both its manufacturing processes and its products. In 2009, Thorlux designed an ambitious carbon offsetting tree planting scheme to help compensate for emissions linked to its work.
Since then, Thorlux has planted 165,687 trees, creating a practical long term project that sits alongside its wider environmental commitments.
